Meet Doretha

Welcome to Geneva's Tutoring! This is the part where I give you the spill about me; let's get into it!

My name is Doretha Lewis and I am a MA, NCC LGPC in the DMV area, specifically Washington DC.

I am a Master's Graduate with a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. I am an Honorary Counseling member of the Chi Sigma Iota, where I graduated at the top of my class, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I have a previous Master's in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University and a bachelor's in Behavioral Sciences from Wilson College.

Throughout my Clinical Mental Health Counseling Degree process, I discovered my interest in tutoring at the University of the Cumberlands, where I have initiated and facilitated course study groups with the support of my professors. In class, tutoring led me to expand in educating others to prepare for the NCE and CPCE exams as classmates reported their struggles with passing and expressed test anxiety. While facilitating the NCE and CPCE study groups, I was studying to pass both exams. After passing the NCE and CPCE, I started the NCE/CPCE Facebook Study Group to help others using the Quizziz app and popular study materials for free, which is still accessible. Now I am working on expanding to help others as a master tutor with the same ambition I started with, but with more resources and study tips that have helped previous students pass their exams!
